Ross McIntosh

Ross McIntosh – Watercolourist

Ross is a brilliant watercolourist finding effects through colour, light, atmosphere, and reflections.

Using the unpredictability of the medium, and with a fluid touch Ross’s paintings tell you a different story with each picture.

In Ross’s own words:

“Well it’s no secret. I just love to paint the landscapes of Europe including, the Scandinavian countries, and of course, most especially the Australian Bush.

Late afternoon and dusk when the light and shadows are most dramatic are my favourite times to engage in my abiding passion, which is watercolour.

Born in Melbourne on Christmas Day 1942, I’ve had the painting bug since school days.

I love watercolour for its unpredictability, with the blending of colours, both on the palette or on paper, resulting in effects not possible with oil paints.

Most days I paint in my studio or enplein air – it’s my life blood.”

Ross has successfully exhibited for many years, including a sell out show at the Hilton Hotel Gallery.
